I am also concerned that all of the military people around him are being portrayed as being a positive influence on him. That is probably partly true, but we have a long history of unsuccessful military adventures that were supported by both military and civilian leaders. Unlike the Viet Nam era, the all volunteer force negates public pressure because only a small subset of the population is being put directly in harm's way. Consequently, we can more easily blunder into disaster.
