Paul and all:

I really don't understand Intel. They are putting out 0.25 micron mobile Pentiums at higher prices, while they have 3 mil mobile chips sitting in their inventory. The smaller die size means lower cost, and I don't think the OEMs are too thrilled having to pay more for them. The mobile K6-233 should have better performance than even the new Pentium 266. I would be interested to see the new Compaq's battery life, benchmarks etc. I also wonder if the new mobile PIIs have dual independent bus. Slot 1 obviously won't fit into a notebook, but I guess Intel will put the L2 cachs onto the same mobile module and run a seperate bus. I think Intel will again try to exact a high price for these chips, but it will be interesting when the K6-300 mobile part ships with a 100MHz bus.
