My opinion is that there should not be "Technical" culture clashes. Both companies have similar designs and it appears from the machine specifications that both their engineering organizations were heading in the same general direction. I don't know about the "workplace" culture and would like to hear from someone that has been in both companies. I hope the synergy created by placing two state of the art design teams together will carry their designs to new levels in power and economy. I would imagine there will be some layoffs in "overlapping" areas. I hope this doesn't cause a lot of problems. I doubt if scaling two companies into one can happen soon enough to have an impact on the next couple of quarters, but after that, who knows ?
