Some general thoughts at this early stage of digging into this opportunity:

- There is already a solid ecosystem building for Dolby Vision, from studios producing the content to equipment adopting the standard. Apple was a big addition, from Apply 4K TV to the iPhone to expectations for their entire product line and now the production of content. Samsung would be the biggest(IMO) shoe as it would solidify DV at the smartphone level and the TV level. The move on the Apple announcement, and more importantly the follow-through, signals to me a potential Samsung announcement would be a watershed event.

- Hard to forecast numbers at this stage, still trying to understand the metrics. What I can readily see is DLB is a pure IP play with approx. 90% margins, has a brand name that screams quality - with a long history in audio, trades at less than 20X forward estimates, and hasn't been much of a tech darling....yet.

Beyond the financial metrics, which are of course paramount, I'd like to understand how the next iteration of HDR10 fits into this puzzle and whether DLB has IP beyond their specific standard.

PS - Dolby Cinema and Dolby Atmos are also pieces of this puzzle, would appreciate any input on them as well. Or I can tell my staff to pick up the pace. :)
