Tonto,small world-I love concrete<vbg>. Have used many pre-cast products(from Tindall in NC),pump stations,m-holes,pipe,vaults,etc. The hi-rises I worked on were all poured in place,slabs,columns,drop beams,shearwalls,elevator shafts(some were structure iron). We'd pour a floor a week(usually 400-500 cu. yds.), beefing up the mix, to get a 2 day break(hot stuff<g>)
The part I loved the most, was pulling the post-tensioning cables(30,000psi), you could actually bend the slab, if you pulled to much...DD |
