While today's rebound was extremely impressive, it struck me as nearly panic buying. I have to assume that the algos are still heavily short VIX and this morning's gap down wasn't in the plans for tomorrow's expiration plays. Even a one day dip in the SPY was fought tooth and nail. I don't know why but I can not help but think that when the market finally corrects, it's not going to be pretty. Even my normal optimism wonders about this supposed "melt up" ending badly....
