Your number:
By the way, the top 1% of Americans own somewhere between 33-42% of the wealth.
Let's use 40% for the example.

Let's say all the wealth = $1000.

Let's say there are 100 people.

That means 1 person has $400.

Which means the other 99 people share the remaining $600.

Each of those 99 people has $6.06

The 1 person with $400 has 66 times more wealth than each of the 99 people who have $6.06 each.

The one person with 66 times more wealth than anyone else is paying 70.6% of the taxes.
