liberals are very good at selling bad ideas; conservatives are very bad at selling good ideas...

Part of the problem is the audience. Most liberal voters are the 47% that Romney referenced. You can't fix stupid. Like trying to explain the color blue to a person who has been blind since birth. Also my litmus test for a Conservative is a person who actively works for smaller government (and that excludes most republicans)
