From a story about the funeral for Sgt Johnson: The Trumpov-Wilson fight wasn't mentioned at the funeral. Thank God. The story has a picture of the widow kissing the coffin, holding a folded flag. She is expecting her third child in January and has a 2 year old and a six year old. An online fundraiser has raised $600K for the children's education. She and her future husband met at age six and they were school sweethearts. 1200 mourners attended. The portrait of Sgt Johnson was displayed along with photographs of the other three soldiers killed in the ambush. Both the minister and Rep. Frederica Wilson made the point that is wasn't just one soldier that lost his life. As a child, his family enrolled him in 5000 Role Models, a project Frederica Wilson began in 1993 when she was an educator. The program matched innercity black boys with mentors who prepared them for college, vocational school, or the military. I expect the program was beneficial for the young Sgt Johnson, so apparently Wilson, despite being a liberal Democrat and having an eccentric sense of style, has some positive achievements in her past.
