500 Companies Identified Across the United States by National Study
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 8, 1998-- Deloitte & Touche LLP
announces the fastest-growing technology companies in the United States
for 1997 as determined by its national Technology Fast 500 awards (the
full list of 500 companies follows this release).
Software companies dominate the Technology Fast 500, totaling 24 percent
of the entire list. Software companies are experiencing especially
strong growth in part due to the Internet boom and current demand for
Internet-related products. These companies are taking advantage of
rapidly growing market demand by producing Web- and intranet-specific
products, such as site-authoring and maintenance tools, electronic
commerce software, webcasting services and various Web and intranet
utility products.
The Technology Fast 500 is a unique awards program that exclusively
recognizes fast-growing technology companies. The companies are ranked
by percentage growth in revenue over a five-year period. To qualify for
the Fast 500 recognition, companies must have been in business for five
years, with 1992 revenues of at least $50,000, and must be a U.S.
company developing and/or providing technology products or services.
