There's the HRS and Comark's announcement - looks like ACRO's PR machine missed the chance at CES of at least saying it is in the game. Just blew the free CES PR and a chance to make your pitch for just the cost of a laywer looking over the release... guys.... hello?

The transmitter market in '98 - '02+ is going to be the strongest of our lifetimes. If you extrapolate the "93% felt they were very likely or somewhat likely to convert within five years" then the # of stations/year should be approximately 250 (250*6 years = 1,500 - very rough #'s). Multiple transmitter sales per station (to support the power level) should be expected as well in highest power cases.

We have to average 20+ sales (FCC APP, CP, LIC) a month to keep that pace. We haven't even seen the tip of it yet when you look into what has been filed with the FCC's. Each week the rolls by gets us closer to a Y2K type problem as the mandate for analog reclamation nears. Wintel is a real threat to the terrestrial broadcaster's franchise [local / national ad spend] as the Internet is just IP television at high enough Mb/s - Win98 has the first receiver built right in and if that doesn't work a few billion just went to cable companies. WebTV. Teledesic.

ACRO has an entire line of DTV xmitters ready to go with the ZE modulator, advantages in power consumption, and adjascent channel solution. New $$ in the bank for bonding a sale and the motivation of coming off the biggest lull in broadcaster purchasing while good times rolled on in every other industry. They don't even have to spend to develop the market - HRS, Comark, and CSX will do it for them.

There's a story here... waiting for the inevitable.... take me back to three quietly so I can stock up for the 2x+ play when they crack into the DTV market. Going to mop it up down here and wait for that 40% move that will come on the next press release - a sure thing withing 90 days. Once they run, let's hope the price moves significantly before they get bought.
