If you go back to news stories written at the time but Clinton and Bush, as well as almost everyone else, was saying the US was on a path to eliminate the entire debt. Then they cut taxes and the debt soared again. Now they have to blame someone else for what they did since they can't admit their tax cuts were irresponsible.

You say military budget cuts helped. Okay, let's assume that's true. Where is the USSR? It wasn't reconstituted. The fact that republicans created global terrorism with their war on terror only shows us how utterly incompetent they are. But we knew that before their war on terror. The debt their tax cuts created proves they are shameless in their willingness to bankrupt the country.

Their defenders lack the intellect and morality to discuss these issues since they're forced to make excuses for failure and lies. Liberals don't waste our time defending lies or failure. We move on.

Republicans were aware boomers were going to retire. Are you suggesting it was normal to not prepare for their retirement and instead create massive debt so we wouldn't be prepared? Com'on, I'm not an idiot and your argument works for only the most ignorant in our country.
