First things first. Since you now accept most of the premises I put forward, in that you accept that debt from tax cuts was not wise and republicans caused the debt to explode after they cut taxes we can look at entitlements. It was never my intent to disregard them since it's a major issue. It was my intent to show that every single republican in the WH and Congress was unfit for the past 35 years. The debt exploded because they lied and their party continues to lie.

Do you think taxes should be cut now? A simple yes or no?
Do you think it's time for republicans to admit they were wrong and begin to increase taxes significantly?

Now entitlements: Almost everything we do with entitlements will result in our economy slowing considerably. Money in those programs is put back into the economy very quickly while the rich simply hoard the money they get from tax cuts.

The solution then is to begin decades of regular tax increases until we have enough revenue to pay our bills. This may sound draconian but it's what every previous generation did without fail (except during a Depression or World War). We can also make adjustments in these programs but there isn't a person on the planet that trusts republicans to do it. They hate our form of government.

The debt stood at less than $1 trillion when Reagan cut taxes. Then the debt exploded. Taxes were raised by President Clinton and Democrats and we had balanced budgets. We don't have to reinvent the wheel, we know how to fix this. It was already done. Force republicans to pay for their spending. President Clinton used Paygo to force republicans to be responsible.

We can't fix future problems until that party is banned or forced to be responsible. But if you want fixes you need to vote for Democrats for the rest of your life.
