Companies like this (relatively small and undercapitalized) usually align themselves with a large marketing partner ( like SmithKline) in order to make a large impact in the markets. I would expect some such relationship, if not with SmithKline, with another of the same type. As the clinicals continue, companies usuallyu bring in these potential partners to view the technology. I would imagine that this has been going on for some time with TCPI and my feeling is that they are close to making an announcement. If this happens, it will do 2 things:

1) It validates the company's technology (someone else is willing to put up money.

2) It gives the company an upfront payment, and usually continueing payments as they meet goals. When the product is ready, they have a huge marketing force behind them to spend dollars that they wouldn't have to make a big splash.

Having known a number of diabetics, if this product really gets off the ground, it will have a huge impact on the Glucose monitoring market.
