Eagles On Top again in almost all NFL Week 9 NFL Power Rankings ...

The first half of the 2017 NFL season is over, and the Philadelphia Eagles — who are 7-1 — are the top team heading into Week 9. The Carson Wentz-led Eagles took care of business against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 8. Philadelphia is now on a six-game winning streak.

The Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks, and the Dallas Cowboys are all coming off Week 8 victories, and all five teams are at least in the top 10 on each power rankings list.

The Minnesota Vikings also traveled across the pond and defeated the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. In fact, Minnesota cracked the top five on ESPN's power rankings. ESPN also has the New Orleans Saints and Houston in the top 10.

Yahoo Sports' power rankings look similar to ESPN's, but the Saints are the No. 6 team. And the Carolina Panthers finally made it back into the top 10 after defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 8.

Even though the Los Angeles Rams had a bye week in Week 8, they are the No. 2 team on NFL.com's power rankings. Also, the Vikings, Saints, Buffalo Bills, and Jacksonville Jaguars are in the top 10.

The only national outlet that didn’t rank the Eagles No. 1 in a power rankings was the Washington Post, where Tom Brady and the Patriots remained in the top spot on Mark Maske’s list. Washington Post (Eagles ranked #2 | Last week’s rank, #2). In an email to Philly.com, Maske said the Eagles are clearly the best team in the NFC, and might have actually topped the Patriots if not for one huge injury.

I had the Eagles ranked first and then dropped them behind the Patriots in part because of the injury to Jason Peters. Losing a very good left tackle during the season has a significant impact on a team and, in this case, I thought it justified moving the Eagles down one spot.” - Mark Maske -

The Eagles host the Denver Broncos on Sunday before their bye week and will play the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington Texas in week 11. They will close the season with the Cowboys on December 31 in Philadelphia.

Prior to hosting the Eagles on November 19. the Dallas Cowboys will host the Kansas City Chiefs and then play at the Atlanta Falcons.
