RE: "Here are some in favor of the stock going up.

-1- Intel may have maintained market share in the sub $1K segment.
-2- Users may still be willing to pay a premium price for Intel Inside in the face of uncertainty about who its competitors are. (Witness CPQ belated campaign to certify AMD as faster better.)
-3- Intel will report strong sales going forward in the top of their PII line in the server market.

Here are some in favor of the stock going down.

-1- Intel will report lower earnings than expected.
-2- Intel will announce that Asia is having an impact upon its expected earnings going forward.
-3- Intel will forecast lower margins for 1998 and weaker product demand.
-4- Intel will discuss inventory problems.
-5- Intel will announce a cut back in capital investment.
-6- Intel will announce that sales of 25% of its last quarter's production of cpu's devoted to the PII line were very disappointing whereas most of its sales were in MMX and low end CPU's."

why do you use the word 'may' in reasons intc may go up and the word 'will' for reasons it may go down ? Anyway- add 'rapid transition to .25 process' as reason intc may go up.
