zzpat, the very first sentence of your post displays your ignorance:
The Justice Department is not run by a president. It's independent.
The Department of Justice is an Executive Branch organization and the Attorney General is a member of the President's cabinet. The DOJ is used by the President to execute the laws on the books that Congress creates. The name of the department confuses people into thinking it is part of our Judicial Branch, but it is not. In addition, the FBI reports into the DOJ. Hillary was cleared during Obama's term in office. Of course, she was cleared. Obama was a very intelligent President and a Constitutional Law expert, and knew how to use all of the powers vested in the Executive Branch to protect his people, including Hillary. Trump doesn't understand that he could shut Mueller down, if he wanted. Trump doesn't understand that he could order Sessions to investigate Hillary. This is my biggest problem with Trump. He is inexperienced, and like you, doesn't understand how the government works. If he did, then he would have used his power long ago to go after Hillary for her crimes instead of blathering about it on Twitter.

This country lost it's soul alright and I agree with you about the violence in America far outnumbering terrorist attacks. However, we shouldn't be stupid about it either. There is no reason for us to open our borders like Europe has. I think Trump is absolutely correct in wanting a Merit Based Immigration system. We have a right to maximize the probability that we bring people in that will be productive citizens, instead of just having lottery systems that make it more probable we bring in people who may do us harm. We don't have to be stupid, but we sure do act like we want to be stupid.
