What do your dollar numbers represent?

Today 16MB SIMM dies are at $3.50 for dealers, $3.20 for oems, down from yesterday's $3.75. (w/ ~10% premium for synchronous)

The dumping by Goldstar and Hyundai may be over for this week, but they still have payroll to meet in Jan and beyond (I have been told they met Dec's). And they are still way oversupplied.

In addition, sub $1000 PCs aren't using much silicon. This is why ADPT got killed today, no one is buying higher end systems.

MU was likely up from weak short covering. Short interest recently increased from from 28MM to 34MM, and these spot pricing spikes probably shook some of these later shorts out. If the prices spike more this weekend, we'll probably see some more covering, but I think smart money will stay short, and for good reason.

IMO, an exceptionally strong Intel number next weak could make a difference in techs, but otherwise (and maybe anyway) I think there is more pain in store. Groves sold ~40% of his stock in the last couple of months. MOT reports on Monday, and I think they will miss. And even if they make the number, I still think we'll see selling there.
