If it were a major problem it would be trivial to stop by just requiring every title company to provide a copy of every settlement statement, both sides of the transaction, electronically to IRS or FBI or whoever. That stops it.

As it now stands a given taxpayer is allowed access to only THEIR half of the transaction, making it difficult to trace the transaction without a title search or abstract.

I don't know how big the problem really is but Congress would likely pass that next week if someone proposed it.

In the case of Trump, if he were accepting such payments, how would you even prove there was a conspiracy? You can't even prove he had knowledge of it, let alone a conspiracy to do it.
