I don't believe it was intended to provide help to anyone on this board although I believe it has helped many poor or with pre-existing conditions.
If you have never been in that boat, uninsurable at any price because of non-existent "pre-existing conditions" arbitrarily deemed so by insurers, that alone made the ACA a godsend.

My wife & I are both now on Medicare so it's a moot point.
