Head-up-the-ass denialism is standard fare. There was a similar approach to AGW, in that when Bush Jr came in, he mothballed a satellite which was designed to directly measure net radiation to space. This figure is computed from a lot of sources, and the denialists love to say we can't actually know the "truth" on this, hence we should doubt AGW. And, God, PLEASE don't let those liberals actually go out and measure it!
