I'm not making the connection between my comments that are about IBM and your comments about Berkshire.

You are saying Berkshire did/does ok by stockholders if stock is/was bought and held for years and/or if stock were added to at appropriate times (occasions when price to bv less than 1.3). Yes I agree and yes, a key point, at least in past decade or decades is that Berksire is/was "sleep at night money".

Talking about IBM though, it might turn out to be a good investment in future as original poster suggested (e.g. with its high cash flow/sh, cloud initiatives.) Don't recall how long I've held the stock -- 21 years maybe. Finally sold end of last year. Last few years stock has generally declined, and I had enough.
