I did something similar with IBM today. Wasn't sure if it had bottomed but knew that $100 has proven to be a good support. So I went ahead and shorted puts. I didn't want to miss the boat even if it meant being early. IMO, if the SPX closes below 930 today, we will have a gap down in the futures for Monday (pending no market moving news worldwide) and then some bargain hunting.
