To the fundamentals. Those of us with backgrounds in displays and wireless have an understanding of those markets, and Samsung specifically, coming in. The components business at Samsung is booming, but their consumer products are in some serious battles - Smartphones with Apple and the Chinese, TV's with LG, particularly at the high end. With all the moving parts in these battles - software(iOS vs Android) and TV panels(OLED v QD) especially, I cannot see them continuing down the path of shunning Dolby Vision. Why give the competition a feature advantage like DV? There are certainly bigger fish to fry. The upgrade is not exceptionally difficult technically, not that expensive, doesn't require any big pill to swallow emotionally or strategically.

I think they come online soon and it will have a major impact to the price and the coverage of the stock. There can be a case made that DV will become synonymous with HDR and HDR become same with 4K.
