You actually believed that article? The doctor in the quoted hit piece replies on twitter below. I think $500K annual savings in procedural cost compared to a Da Vinci will be quite a strong driver for adoption by lap surgeons that have been turned off by ISRG. Haptics and smaller instruments also help. 3mm instruments being released commercially now in EU. That will come to the USA next year. Articulated instruments coming next along with advanced energy. No worries for ISRG yet as TRXC is going after lap surgeons who rejected the Da Vinci approach. It is just software though if TRXC decides to go after ISRG's market.
