I fully agree, most all Hollywood made films today are pure crap and not worth watching, completely uni-dimensional and colorless...
I prefer the European films, some of the Swedish and Norwegian films are excellent, good story depth and lots of legitimate drama...
Although, I think my favorite are the South Korean films, the music is original, Western, and absolutely hypnotic, their story lines have wonderful depth, great intrigue, and the characters are so real to life... probably the best of the South Korean films I've seen would be BROTHERHOOD OF WAR, a wonderful street level story of two brothers who became separated during the Korean conflict, the music is absolutely magical, I've watched that film several times just to hear the music...
The South Korean films are typical longer than American or European films, 2 1/2 to 3 hours long, but so compelling that you're always sorry to see it end, you fall in love with the characters, you want the story to continue and you want to see more of their lives...
