The U.S. has never been ungreat. Coming off of Obama, we were still the strongest and most successful of countries. The economy was making steady progress from a financial collapse that Obama inherited.
Economies do not turn on a dime. I acknowledge that the promise of a corporate tax cut added fuel to fire. But this constant trumpeting that he is responsible for our current position of strength? Truly delusional.
So, he goes to Europe and returns. That is some sort of major victory. Gets off the plane, and America is great again. Now he goes to Asia and returns. That is also some sort of major victory. For some reason, his having gone someplace and returned means that America is back again.
Sentiment for the U.S. in Europe and Asia is down the drain, and America was never unback. Every day, it's waking to an alternate reality.
I've arrived! I'm waving! I think I'm beautiful, handsome, presidential! Look at me wave! America is baaaaaaaaack Baby!
Meanwhile, republicans are doing what republicans do.... inflating the deficit, promising the opposite. And Hillary is out declaring that Bill's sexual indiscretions are better than others, partly because it caused almost insurmountable issues in her family.
I mean..... maybe the smartest guy WOULD choose the backpack. |
