When entire cities are built in a short time, that's a result of central planning which you do seem to admire. Giant socialist projects with the government commanding development ... we've seen that before. Germany built the autobahn between 1933 and 1941 but our interstate highway system took 35 years to complete.

Construction was authorized by the Federal Aid Highway Act of 1956, and the original portion was completed 35 years later, although some urban routes were cancelled and never built.

America just isn't as efficient and magnificant as Nazi Germany, I guess.

the US can't pass a single infrastructure spending bill in years. Infrastructure gets built and repaired in the US all the time. A section of the Grand Parkway project around Houston was opened not too long ago and will be paid for via tolls.

Obama passed a giant infrastructure bill and it was to a very large extent a big giveaway to special interests, just like Trump's will be in the event it gets passed.
