Uh, not really.

We turn out more PhDs than any other country, by a wide margin. Now, I'll be the first to say many of those PhDs are in subjects that don't require great intellect.

But in many fields continue to innovate wildly in the US, and the US moved up a notch in 2016 back to 4th place in the Global Innovation Index, behind Switzerland, Sweden & UK. The US is still recovering from the dumbing down under Obama, and it seems likely we will move up as a result of the transition away from universities to online education, which is starting to happen at a much faster pace.

A lot of health care innovation moved to other countries after 2010 and due to ACA and lower tax rates moved some innovation, for sure. This could get a great boost if the tax bill passed, but that looks unlikely. The ACA is just a mess, but other countries have done more innovating since ACA. There is a lot of health care innovation to go around, though.

It is just my opinion, but so is yours. I am encouraged by the sudden surge in moving away from the archaic education system built on bricks-and-mortar.

I do think we have the dumbest liberals in the world, though....
