Yes, if you look at the graphs, Carter was running 50 billion a year deficits (seems quaint today :)>) and Reagan cuts taxes for the rich by 100 billion and increased defense spending by 100 billion and ballooned the debt to 250 billion where it remained for all eight years and the next four of Bush sr.

Those two added three trillion to the debt.

But Reagan did raise taxes on the poor by taxing social security.

He was a real sociopath. Typical Republican politician and the people keep voting for them. It blows my mind.
