TJ emperors tend to focus on their culinary delights - see Kim the Fatter for example. Think back to Roman Emperors. Absolute rulers grow introspective and inclined towards Jabba the Hut greed. Louis XIV knew no bounds. en.wikipedia.org China was world-leading once upon a time. Piddling little England took over for the best part of a century propelled by Virtuous Victorian Values.

Emperor Xi is trending ...

China is more than a little like North Korea.

But the Made in China marching is more fun-sounding. youtube.com I like the 41 minute 15 second ladies marching. A big lot of GDP there Same music decades later: youtube.com Looks as though the marching ranks are fewer.

I don't think square bashing leads to much that's good, especially if there's too much goose stepping.

Maybe Apple, Google, Microsoft, Qualcomm etc etc would improve their economic value with more square bashing and martial music. Maybe not.

At least democracies have a mechanism to overthrow trending tyrants, though Germans voted for their version which trended very terrible.

Never a dull moment in the human monkey cage.
