Growth is rapid when you're coming from a low base.

I can remember when Japan was the great wonder of the world, sure to dominate the world. Decades before my time (in the 30's people thought the same about Germany and the USSR.

It's good to know how they're doing it.

Some Chinese get rich (often those with political connections), many many more work locked in sweatshops. They don't mess around with our environmental regs. There's another tip for how they do it.
