Did Reagan help win that war? Maybe a tiny bit - but Afghanistan helped too. The answer by those unable to grasp these complicated issues is to just give their hero all the credit and ignore the many contributing tentacles that also helped.

BUT even so, you miss the point!! The point is that the deficit soared. Why is that so hard for you to understand. Your argument today is that the tax decrease will pay for itself - which is pure nonsense. If your 179 had accomplished what you claim - Reagan would never had had to raise taxes, the stock market wouldn't have fallen and we wouldn't have switched from being the largest creditor to the world's largest debtor nation. Damn, when you have to face the truth isn't it.
