You mischaracterize what I said about the debt ceiling. I simply pointed out that the debt ceiling has to rise so there's no need to have the votes to do it....just do it automatically. It wasn't until we had a black president that one party (the party of racists) used the debt ceiling fight to cripple the government and the economy.

Since that party still exists (and needs to be banned) the debt ceiling vote needs to go away so they can't do it again. Democrats have consistently voted to increase the debt ceiling because Democrat voters vote for sane people.

The debt as a % of GDP declined for decades after WW2 and then rose for decades after tax cutters ignored the debt and cut taxes. The balanced budgets under Clinton prove the "welfare state" is not the problem.
