Franklin doing the right thing is selling at $84 and missing a $10 run leading to another $100 run by next year. Doing the right thing is avoiding excessive risk when fundamentals sour, which they have. In time you may learn that the key to succeeding in the stock market is controlling your risk. Missing a run under such conditions is no different than not betting on red, right before red comes up at the roulette wheel.
