>>The No.hand technology was soundly rebuffed with no offers to use it by any company.<<

Rocky -

This is a fallacy which I have seen repeated in places such as Wired magazine.

Here's what actually happened. After making the technology announcement about n.hand, Iomega shopped the concept around to various manufacturers of cameras, PDAs, etc. They were seeking feedback. The feedback they got was mainly along the lines of "Yes, that's very interesting, but it needs to use less power, the capacity is a bit too small, and the name really sucks."

With this feedback in mind, they went back into the lab, reworked the product to use less power and have a higher capacity. They worked out a lot of details and produced fully functional prototypes. Then they renamed it Clik!

If we don't see any product announcements within the next three or four months, I'll begin to believe that Clik! won't fly. Until then, I think it's too early to make the call.
