We all have different preferences as to who we share our bed with

I respect yours ... :-)

I have never allowed any of my dogs to even get into our bedroom. Let alone my bed. Same goes for couches or chairs. They have very comfortable beds of their own and I don’t invade those.

Respect my territory and in return, I respect yours.

I personally look at dogs no different than I look at kids. There are rules and there are boundaries. There are unintended consequences if they don’t know what these boundaries are.

We can only set the stage and everyone’s stage is different.

PS: I am undoubtedly a “hard ass” when it comes to dogs. I don’t ask them to do useless “tricks” but I try to condition them so they can stay alive as in I am the boss and there is no if buts or whats about it.

A dog not listening to its owner is a recipe for disaster waiting to happen.
