For most of my life I wondered why?

And then when I recently read: The Axe Makers Gift". which I would highly recommend I found out. They were the first people to invent a workable written language. Once person kind developed a written language everything changed for the better. Facts could be passed down verbatim and with time frames.

Myths were replaced with reason and reason gave us modern civilization.
