Dolby Vision On Sony TVs First Look: Simply Stunning

forbes.com

<snip>

The best way to sum up how The Great Wall clip looked in Dolby Vision on the A1 versus the HDR10 version I’ve seen before is to say that it was so good I felt like I was watching a different film.

If you’re lucky enough to own one of Sony’s Dolby Vision-capable TVs, after reading this article you’re presumably even more keen for the feature to arrive than you were before. Unfortunately Sony STILL wouldn’t be drawn during the demo on a definite roll out date for the necessary firmware update, only saying that it would reveal this information in December.

At least there is no longer any doubt that the feature is coming, though. And from what I’ve seen so far, there’s also little doubt that it’s going to add a gorgeous extra layer of quality to Sony’s already excellent TVs.
