The assertion was made by many a Moore defender that there was absolutely no corroboration of the Moore accusers' allegations. Well, except for all the confirmation from friends and family that they had, indeed, been told about these events many years previous. (Which -- if Moore's defenders were right -- would require that not only were the accusers lying, but everyone who claimed they'd heard the story years ago was also lying.) Not to mention that WaPo even had people checking the minor details of the various accounts (Was Moore's driveway unpaved in 1979? Did the pizzeria sell wine back in 1982? etc.) in order to establish their credibility.

Only those who hadn't bothered to read the original story in the WaPo in the first place could possibly claim there was no corroboration.
