All true as long as you look at it from the company's point of view.
If I am the company and I am not planning to raise capital through equity financing there is no reason to care where the company's common stock is priced. And I believe this is why the companies don't make comments: there is no reason to because where the stock is priced at this specific time does not affect the company that much. However, there are reasons to care about the company's strategic plan, it will affect the future of the company, its survival. The company also believes that if they carry out the strategic plan that will take care of the company and inturn take care of the common stock price.

I don't have any problem with this unless of course I look at it from the investor's point of view. As an investor I am directly affected by the company's current stock price even if it is only on paper. Also, to make sound investment choices I must have information and the best place for information is the company itself.

Bottom line: I wished companies would just admit that they don't comment about their common stock because they frankly don't really care what the current price is. That the company is much more concerned about the strategic plan and that, that in itself, will adventually take care of the shareholders through future stock price appreciation. However, as a shareholder, I wished I could get more comments from the company simply to be a better informed investor and therefore, make better decisions.

Obviously we don't live in a perfect world and if I am going to invest in the stock market I had better get used to the words, "NO COMMENT."

Sincerely,

Stock Watcher
