But it isn't only the Mango Mussolini that supports Moore. If that was the case, Moore would not be the issue. It is the ones who claim the mantle of the moral core of the Republican party, evangelicals. They have shown that their claim on morality is only lip service, that they have no moral compass at all. In your words, their morals shift with the wind.

Most of the Congressional Republicans opposed Moore before it became clear that the man is a pedophile. They opposed him because Moore has announced that he is running against them as much as anything else. And it is Moore's challenge to their power they oppose.
