Dick, I am no a proponent of this solution by any means. But in a discussion over on the ASND thread about this topic about a month ago, someone pointed me toward some info that made this claim, and I overcame the very same mental objetion that you have expressed about dropping for incoming. Personally, I couldn't care less, as I have always believed "shotgun" was a solution looking for a problem - engineers sitting around saying "Hey we could do this", when no consumer would want to pay to do it that way in the first place.
