I don't think many people would be willing to use a Visa Card which charged 7% to 20% for each transaction.

And it's these transaction costs which are working against Bitcoin usage as price volatility continues.

Spending 0.01 Bitcoins, worth $70 to $101 depending upon the day you do it currently costs $7 - 7% to 10%! Only a couple of weeks ago it cost $16 in transaction fees to spend 0.01 Bitcoins.

No even international drug dealers would pay that percentage to launder their money.

In the US, Visa currently charges 1.51% plus $0.10 for each charge and for card holders with excellent credit banks issuers kick-back 1% of each transaction to the credit card user - and up to 2% with certain restrictions or holding other accounts which produce profit for the bank.

One of my nephews "mined" 0.8 Bitcoins on his computer so I've had frequent updates over the past few years.
