Yes, from what I'm seeing in oilpatch, the refiners will be whipsawing quite a bit over the next few months out of fear that the "price of oil" (whatever that really is anymore), i.e., their feedstock, is actually in a little bull run here... Personally, I'm not convinced of that, but uncertainty about the actual "trend" in oil prices never works well for refiners.... disclaimer: I used to be long VLO (my favorite refiner) some years ago, but as I transitioned to DGI, I finally took VLO off the table, but it was one of the last ones from swing trading that I finally got rid of because of the volatility inherent in the refining biz.
