But you're holding up ancient Greece and Rome as ideals .... because you like that they weren't Christian .... so yes, if you hold up societies that were worse than the Confederacy, then you are as bad or worse than those neo-Confederates.

Ancient Greece and Rome were as much slave societies as the US south once was. Plus they engaged in frequent infanticide. Some of their slaves (in the case of Rome) were gladiators who battled to the death against one another and against wild animals for the entertainment of crowds. They regularly committed genocide on a massive scale, wiping out cities (Corinth, Carthage, Jerusalem, Tyre) and entire national groups (Gauls, Macedonians).
