That's how we leave ourselves open to the European mess, not by excluding Muslims who subscribe to our approach.

No kidding. In Europe, the tendency is to segregate Muslims into more or less walled off communities. Which breeds a lot of resentment and is at the heart of a lot of the Muslim violence there. Here, at least until relatively recently, they were welcomed into the greater community. There just isn't the degree of multi-generational resentment that fuels a lot of Europe's problems. Just google the term "Eurabia", which has been around for a long time now.

Of course, there are those here who want to institute a similar system of generational resentment.
