The herd bailing out of US$ = of course only a minuscule proportion of them since bitcoin total value = $160 billion of $10 trillion US$ or maybe $20 trillion [near enough for government work]. So it's just a tiny speculative gamble by bitcoiners.

If bitcoin succeeded, it could go to $100 trillion replacing all fiat currencies.

But my initial criticisms of it remain intact, and to those I add the splitting into more types and competition from other block chain competitors.

If the NSA and CIA and co decide to attack bitcoin, I guess that they could stop a lot of the data transmissions and otherwise put the frighteners on people. Empires don't take kindly to threats to their cash flow. They will do bulk murder to protect their power.

They could keep it out of USA and might even be able to stop people in Zimbabwe from using it. Or put pressure on governments to comply with USA demands [as they put pressure on other countries to attack Russia/North Korea/Syria/Iraq/Libya etc
