Patrick, We may distinguish an "up beta" and a "down beta" for every stock. DELL's "down beta" has been shrinking for a while and is now less than CPQ's. I have not computed their up beta. However, the stock is very resilient now and springs back quickly with up moves in the general market. This implies that the up beta is greater than the down beta. I think we will see some worldwide effort this weekend to restore confidence in Indonesia. It is an indigenous panic that is overblown.
