My answer to the following question regarding automation:

"
<<It isn't clear what we will do with all the people displaced and no one seems to have any answers to this

The answer is actually very simple and some European countries are experimenting with it. We redistribute the countries wealth. I spent 20 years writing social programs and they worked out well.

If the Democrats were in power we could do this stuff. We would start by taxing, by revising the tax base to tax automation and the rich. The money would be used to provide everyone with universal health care and free education.

The poor would get financial stipends, just for being alive. The homeless would have centers where they could sleep, shower and eat and have stipends. Drug abusers would have counseling available.

The economic power would be directed at making sure everyone was at least OK. No kids on the streets, etc.

We have the economic might to do this, but we piss it away on tax cuts for the rich and a military industrial complex that is obscene.

We Democrats know how to do this shit, the people just have to give us the power.

But this horse shit there is no money is a Republican myth they have been perpetrating for a 100 years to keep all the money in the hands of the plutocrats and the uninformed can't seem to figure it out, so they help them.
